Add trip planning capabilities to OneBusAway
It would be nice to be buzzed a minute before the bus (train etc.) arrives. Especially when waiting indoors away from bad weather, an alert would give time to pop out as the bus arrives.
Display real-time bus position on the map, using GPS feed provided by Metro. Sometimes it's better to see where you bus actually is to figure out timing
Show lines on the map (especially in mobile apps) of a route, not just the stops. This would be helpful for seeing a whole route from a mobile phone.
Would love a feature that let's me select a bus route and show me live bus locations on that route. Would be comforting late at night when the buses are late that one is actually in route.
Sometimes there are buses from different stops to essentially the same place. It would save time to be able to search them in one go by asking the client for all buses to (e.g.) 4th & Lucile, instead of having to check each stop where one might be coming in turn.
Ability to merge two stops together in a bookmark. For example: 5th Ave & Jackson AND IDS Bay D: I wait for either a 550, 216, 554, or 211 to Mercer Island and have to jump between two bookmarks to get arrival times. If I could filter the results, that would be even cooler!
In one word... AWESOME!
In two words... The Best!!
It would be nice if there were some way to access the full route schedule when searching for a route or selecting a particular bus from a stop, either in the app itself or just linking to the appropriate agency's schedule web page.
Caching of the stop schedule would be helpful. As I approach the DSTT I check the University St Station Bay A (#565) arrival times. Once I enter the DSTT I have no way of checking that listing again due to lack of signal in the DSTT. If this list could be cached so it can be checked without service it would be helpful so that I know the order of buses/trains arriving in the tunnel. My express (MT 316) is infrequent ...more »
Have an option to sort the bookmarks (on iPhone) by proximity to your current location.
Allow users to select a particular bus at a stop and see what route/streets it follows plotted on the map in iPhone app.
Information about the likelihood of on-time arrival can help with the planning of trips.
Please make a Windows Phone 7 app! :)
The app should allow you to plan a trip and find out where to get on and off. For example you type in the address where you are the the address you need to get to and the app will tell you the best bus to take and where the stops are
give some information regarding the accuracy of the times. Generally, they underestimate the times, but I have missed the bus once when I cut it close. Sometimes it says arriving when its not yet in sight.
Also, when buses change numbers it can get a little confusing perhaps. Not sure about this.
It would be nice if you could see the schedule for a stop when you select it on the iPhone (as is possible in the website). Thanks!
Put all the suggestions for iPhone features into other mobile apps too.
Update app to utilize iPhone5 screen.
Take snow routes and when the busses are running them into account. Right now (Monday, 11/22) many routes, such as the #70, are running on snow routes; however, OneBusAway doesn't show that when you look at a stop which is not being served (such as any stop on 15th Ave. NE for this route).
I love this app. Had it on my iPhone 3G but never really worked for me. Just went through some app I planned on deleting and it happen to work. Love the app I use it everyday when going to school. Beats carrying those bus scheduler books around. Plus let's you know exactly when the bus is coming and what bus you missed. I just there was a "Favorite" button so I can save my route. Great app!
Need SEA/TAC to Seattle Sound Transit Link light rail. That is why I bought this. Even that transit agency is pointing to this app for that information.
Unless I'm missin it, you should include all the route times, not just the next one to depart. Also, it'd be great if you guys could create a trip planner for those who take multiple buses. Other than that, great app guys!
Have a integrated trip planner. Not a link to the one online but onebusaway' s own trip planner
If it's not already possible, it would be nice to be able to go from your bookmarks, to a specific stop, and then one button to get from that stop's info page to the map page showing that stop rather than centered on your actual current location, so you can quickly scroll around and find other nearby stops.
